Portfolios are beneficial if you intend to submit a lot of proposals on platforms like Fiverr or Freelancer. Clients can click on your portfolio and view your writing samples, saving you the time that you’d normally spend sending those samples to them. They’re also an excellent way to display your diverse writing abilities. Here’s what every freelance writer’s portfolio should include: †¢ A short form news piece †¢ A long form news piece †¢ A personal essay †¢ An editorial piece †¢ A blog entry related to a specific niche – choose your favorite †¢ A press release Now, of course there are others. If you choose, you can write about a controversial subject. If your specialty is writing resumes, include one here. And you can always include your own resume on your website. Be sure that your portfolio page lists how your clients can contact you. You don’t have to give personal information; it’s easy to install a contact form on a WordPress website. Clients can contact you directly, and will never have access to your address or any other information. Freelance writer resumes: a few more thoughts As I mentioned, not everyone agrees that you’ll need a freelance writer resume. It may be a good idea to compose one, â€Å"just in case.† But the majority of your work will be published online, and your marketing will, as well. If you do choose to have a resume, it’s best to start early in your career. For every job you complete, write down one sentence about it in a notebook. Your sentences only have to make sense to you; for example â€Å"Wrote an article about Canadian electric smokers for Dave Leonard – May 2014†. Later, as you develop your resume, you’ve got a compilation of all of your projects. It’s easy to add gigs to your resume as you find your client base or niche. And finally, whether you choose to have a portfolio, a resume, both or neither, you absolutely must always maintain a database of writing samples that you can send to clients upon demand. Read through your files regularly; as you advance in your career, your writing will improve. You can update your database from time to time to reflect your quality and style of writing. But this database is important because there are some clients who want neither a portfolio nor a resume. They just want to see a sample. Keep these files updated, and you’ll be ready when they ask.

Within the field of education there is a range of methods and practices which have been implemented by professionals, in order to improve the provision for learners. Some of the methods adopted may be due to government legislation. An example of this is the National Curriculum. It was introduced to establish a consistent approach to the teaching of all children, in maintained schools. It gives guidance on what should be taught for particular age groups and a set of level descriptors are also included to assess children by. Other practices are developed, within a school context, to address particular areas in need of improvement. Evidence Based Practice (EBP) and Reflective Practice are two methods, used by teachers, to enhance the teaching†¦show more content†¦Another familiar feature of both reflective and evidence based practice is that both practices share a common aim. They both strive for change and improvement (Atkin 1993 cited in Leitch Day 2000). Evidence is often g athered to support or justify particular practice. We look at trends in results to identify a particular weakness or strength. The optional statutory assessment grids are a great source of evidence for teachers, at the end of a year. They provide a breakdown of the types of questions that the children answered and show the percentage they got correct. In my school we analyse this data to show where there are gaps in the children’s understanding. We then use this evidence to inform our teaching practice the following year, by targeting these particular areas in need of development. This is our heroa regular guy who believes in himself rescues everyone and achieves his destiny. Next we have Batman the Lego, he is the perfect man, cool, smart, strong, deep voice, and he starts with the girl but does he end with her? After Vitruvius dies Emmett saves the day, gets the girl, and his happy ending all at the same time. This sounds like another good reading from someone recently. Halberstam? That’s the one! So in conclusion, Halberstam is beyond right in her words about how most films that are animated involve some kind of revolution against an evil entity. The main goal is always a Utopian society or it starts as a false one, in almost all movies. Males and females are often portrayed as certain perfect specimens with the sculpted bodies, the perfect faces, the perfect hair, etc. Yet sometimes they get away from this and make the complete opposite the best there is. We have also looked into the fact that a lot of Disney films have a huge failure or how they revel in the failure. We had our biggest failure in the Lego movie but what happens after the failure we get our big happy ending which happens in every kids movie, big failure, happy ending. The villain loses and the hero wins. Finally, there is a lot of exceptionalism in animated movies a lot of people or animals who are totally okay with what is happening Monsters Inc. for instance is about traumatizing children for power. None of the monsters ever questioned it until that point in time.
